A new year, a fresh start!

Hello Weston and Mt. Dennis!

As you may have heard, we held a community meeting on December 9th 2011 at the Weston Library! It was a big success with over 35 participants attending from the arts communities in the neighborhood. Our main interest as researchers was to discover, where things are happening in Weston and Mount Dennis…who is making them happen… and what kinds of art were being explored.

We were truly amazed at the level of work happening in the neighborhood as well as  the youthful energy, dedication and pride that was amongst the group. Thank you so very much for attending.

We hope in the coming weeks to keep you informed about our research process and the next phase of  the “Impact of Arts at a Neighbourhood Level” research project. We will be contacting members of the community to hear your feedback about the next phase. We are interested in learning more about artists, arts organizations, youth initiatives and the wide range of programs that are happening in the community.

With this in mind, we are also interested in finding out what you think about this process, and making this research project useful to those who live in Weston and Mount Dennis as well. On this blog… you will find various sections with information that we gathered at the community meeting. Please feel free to add your suggestions and comments below. And of course… if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at anytime. Our information is located on the “About” section of this website.
